From April 5th to April 14th the 6B travelled to Ireland to enhance their language skills (including attending the ATC language school right next to beach in Bray), to gain new cultural experiences (such as staying at a host family) and to explore the countryside and cities of Emerald Island (inter alia the Cliffs of Moher, Connemara, Galway, Dublin).

In the following, you‘ll read more about the trip and students' impressions:

This trip gave us the opportunity to get to know a new country and its people and culture, discover new places, spend time with our friends and improve our English skills. During the business days we visited a language school in Bray, where we learned various new things about Ireland. The lessons were very entertaining and fun to attend.....Overall, I can say that I am forever grateful for this trip, and I would definitely do something like this again. (Mira)

All in all, the trip was a great experience, I learnt a lot of new words and my English improved overall. The language school was very helpful, and I learnt a lot of facts about the history of Ireland.  Constantly talking in English improved my speaking skills and made me feel more confident when talking to strangers. (Pavel)

We had an amazing time at the language school thanks to our teacher who was incredibly energetic and brought a load of positive energy with her to the classroom. She made us feel comfortable and that was the main reason why we improved as much as we did. All of us learned to speak more fluently and freely. During our roundtrip, we could bask in the landscapes of Ireland and take in the nature that it has to offer. The Cliffs of Moher were definitely a highlight of the trip for a lot of our classmates, due to the breathtaking sight. (Magdalena)

At school, we discussed a range of new topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Irish Culture, Irish authors and their versions of fairytales, and different kinds of holidays. We also had to give a five-minute presentation on those topics. (Polina)

Our experience in Ireland was great, unlike the weather. But that’s just the typical rain you’d expect on the British Isles. Either way we had an incredible time. Firstly, after landing at Dublin Airport, we took a bus to Galway where we stayed for two nights. Unfortunately, the weather cancelled some of our afternoon/evening activities, but we were instead chauffeured around the beautiful landscape and taken to a nice little fishing town called Clifden. On Sunday we drove to Bray and met our host families at the school. Then from Monday on we had language school from 9 to 12:50 and then an afternoon activity after. We went to Dublin, where we visited the Natural History Museum of Ireland and the EPIC, the Irish Emigration Museum. There were lots of other places we visited like GoQuest, an escape room-like dungeon of puzzles, the arcade in Bray where we went bowling and Greystones, a small city close to Bray with incredible beaches. But the most exciting out of them all was Wicklow’s Gaol with its amazing VR experience. It’s safe to say that our Ireland trip was really great and a good opportunity for the class to bond. (Maksim)

In the evening, when we had free time, we always spent time at the beach to see the sun go down or we went to the Martello’s (a very good restaurant in Bray) to get dinner as a whole class. I am going to miss that so much. (Marlene)

Most of us lived near the language school, where we would spend the following week. All of them were very nice and welcoming, some even owned some pets or little children with which we could play. (Sophie)

It was one of the most memorable and coolest trips I have ever taken. I had so much fun with all my classmates. (Dennis)
